Orquestra Criança Cidadã (Children’s Citizen Orchestra) is a Brazilian social project that has been changing the lives of hundreds of children and teenagers through musical education. In 2015, the project joined the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet), a global initiative of more than 12,000 schools in 182 countries with a common goal of forging a culture of peace around the world. The Children’s Citizen Orchestra was the first music school in Latin America to receive UNESCO’s ASPnet international certification. In 2023, in association with the Italian Cavalsassi Foundation, the Orchestra performed the Concerts for Peace in the Vatican.
