Calling all kids and pigeons: join in the symphonic silliness!

With the help of all-star guests, New York Times best-selling author/illustrator Mo Willems introduces fun musical ideas, explores big emotions, and invites audiences to listen, play, and create in this world premiere concert for families.

In partnership with the National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Enrico Lopez- Yañez, Mo uses music and storytelling to take kids and former kids on an exciting journey of symphonic delights. Mo and his co-host LudWING van BEAKhoven (one of The Pigeon’s alter egos) explore all types of orchestral music through the lens of opposites FAST and SLOW, presenting playful twists around familiar tunes and even introducing brand-new compositions with everyday objects.

This one-of-a-kind concert experience features:

  • A Symphonic Story reading of the book Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! by Mo and composed by Jonathan Bingham
  • A Mo-ified opera aria sung by guest baritone Aaron Reeder
  • New orchestral works composed by Jim Kessler and sung by D.C. favorites Rayanne Gonzales and Christopher Mueller
  • A Toothbrush Concerto composed by Bingham for special guest percussionist Bonnie Whiting
  • An interactive sing-along
  • And more surprises!
