Let orchestral sounds send you soaring into space.

Get ready to explore the vastness of space with music inspired by the planets, stars, and beyond! In anticipation of the upcoming voyage of Artemis II, the first crewed mission to the moon in over 50 years, the National Symphony Orchestra celebrates the discoveries and beauty of space through music and images. Longtime friend of the NSO and space enthusiast, conductor Emil de Cou will lead this program of musical adventures and celestial learnings. This space-themed family concert is presented as part of the Kennedy Center Festival Earth to Space, which runs from March 28–April 13, 2025.

Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 1 p.m. is a sensory-friendly performance.

Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all families, including those with children with autism or other sensory sensitivities. If you order these performances and do not require these Accessibility accommodations, your family is still very much welcome to attend.

Come early for a Musical PLAYspace

Prior to each performance, the NSO Volunteer Council will hold a Musical PLAYspace. Children will have the opportunity to try out the instruments they’ll see played on the stage.

Stay after for a Creative Conversation 

Following the performance on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 1 p.m., young audience members can ask questions and hear stories from the show’s artists and creative team.
