Tania León: Pasajes** (NSO/Amplifying Voices CO-COMMISSION)
Edward Elgar: Cello Concerto
Johannes Brahms: Symphony No. 4

Revel in the heart-wrenching drama of Brahms’ fourth and final symphony, a favorite evoking themes from boisterous Beethoven to Bach’s Baroque. Toronto Symphony Orchestra Music Director Gustavo Gimeno conducts this “visionary masterpiece,” ranked sixth among all classical symphonies by the BBC.

Elgar’s emotional Cello Concerto is brought to life by Franco-Belgian cellist Camille Thomas, whose remarkable series of videos—playing music from empty museums in Paris during lockdown—were transformative experiences for millions of viewers. The concert opens with Pasajes, a new co-commission by 2022 Kennedy Center Honoree Tania León.
