Ashley Murphy-Wilson
Ashley Murphy-Wilson of Shreveport, Louisiana, is in her ninth season with The Washington Ballet (TWB) after dancing for 13 years with Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH).
In 2002, she trained and performed with DTH’s Dancing Through Barriers® Ensemble. The following year, she was accepted into the DTH Company and toured with them, performing in ballets such as Firebird, Serenade, The Four Temperaments, and Concerto Barocco. Murphy-Wilson joined TWB in 2015, where she made history as the first Black woman to perform the role of Giselle for that company. She has also had the honor of performing at The White House, on BET, and for the game show Jeopardy! as a video clue. Murphy-Wilson is excited to be back among Black excellence with Pathways to Performance.
