Kirsten Magwood

Kirsten Magwood, a Washington, D.C. native, is a seasoned interdisciplinary storyteller celebrated for her adept fusion of visual imagery, narrative, music, and humor to engage with contemporary culture. Her creative journey began with a passion for photography cultivated at The Madeira School, leading her to capture the dynamic music scene in Atlanta while pursuing her studies at Spelman College. Her work soon found a home in iconic music publications like Vibe and The Source.Transitioning to digital video production, Kirsten's career flourished as she contributed content to major music television networks MTV and VH1, all while pursuing a master's degree in Music Business from NYU.

In 2001, Kirsten founded POP Media, her boutique production company that spearheaded innovative marketing content for broadcast networks, major brands, and cultural icons. Noteworthy collaborations include partnerships with heavy hitters like Complex Media, Paramount, Pepsi, and Kanye West. She also pioneered production for TikTok’s business marketing department in 2021.

For over two decades, Kirsten has navigated the entertainment industry during its most toxic era, a time when the objectification of women and girls was not only the creative output but a behind-the-scenes nightmare. Inspired by her experiences, Kirsten's current endeavor, "Callipygous Complex," seeks to challenge stereotypes surrounding women's bodies. Through this groundbreaking interactive project, she provides a platform for candid discussions about body diversity and human uniqueness, ushering in a new era of empowerment and celebration.
