Viviana Goodwin soprano
Soprano Viviana Goodwin, a proud native of Tulsa, Oklahoma is thrilled to join the Cafritz Young Artists of Washington National Opera for the 2024-25 season. This season, she will perform as Crowned Child (3rd apparition) in Macbeth and Hyena in Jungle Book. She will also participate in this year's AOI 20 program as Maysoon in Tati. Miss Goodwin was an Apprentice Artist with the Des Moines Metro Opera for two seasons, where she was featured in the choruses of Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess, Bizet’s Carmen, and Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges. She also has performed in various scenes concerts as Eurydice (Orphée et Eurydice), Anne Truelove (The Rake’s Progress), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Marietta (Die tote Stadt), and Musetta (La bohème). In the summer of 2024, she will make her principal role debut as Donna Elvira in the Merola Opera Program’s production of Don Giovanni. Additional highlights include: Second Lady in Dido and Aeneas, Beth in Little Women, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Sophie De Palma in Masterclass, and Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense. As a passionate advocate for the arts and non-profit organizations, Miss Goodwin also currently serves as a Marketing Manager with the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra in Houston, TX and previously with the Oklahoma Hall of Fame-Gaylord Pickens Museum.
