Cynthia R. Finks

Cynthia Finks received her Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School as a student of both Joseph Fuchs and Dorothy DeLay. She also studied Suzuki teacher training with Louise Behrend. She received her Master of Music degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where she studied with Almita and Roland Vamos. While a student she performed as a full-time substitute with the Minnesota Orchestra.

Ms. Finks has been on the faculty of the School for Strings in New York City, The MacPhail Center for the Arts in Minneapolis, and several Suzuki Institutes. She taught violin and music appreciation at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and while there served as concertmaster of the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. She has also been a faculty member at the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In addition to her position in the National Symphony, Ms. Finks has performed with the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, the Manchester String Quartet, and the 20th Century Consort.
