Quincy Erickson
Originally from Minneapolis, Quincy Erickson joined the NSO as acting 2nd trumpet in the fall of 2024. While studying at Northwestern (BM ‘23), he began as a regular member with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago before leaving to play 2nd trumpet with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 6 months in 2024. Quincy has played and recorded with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Louisville Orchestra, and Jacksonville Symphony. He has also played guest principal with the Palm Beach Symphony.
Quincy spent 2 summers at the Tanglewood Music Center (‘23 ‘24) along with 2 summers at the Aspen Music Festival and School (‘21 ‘22). His primary teachers were Thomas Rolfs, David Bilger, and Michael Sachs. When he’s not performing with the NSO, Quincy enjoys working on musical side projects such as putting on chamber concerts and teaching himself new instruments.
