Dr. Troy E. Boddy

Dr. Troy E. Boddy, co-director of the Sandy Spring Slave Museum and African Art Gallery, is a Morehouse Man, having received a B.A. in Psychology from Morehouse College. He subsequently earned an M.Sc. in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport, CT, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Hood College, Frederick, MD. Dr. Boddy is also the co-author of the book " Intersectionality in Health Education," which explores the importance of considering how various social identities intersect to influence health experiences.

A seasoned educator and administrator in the Montgomery County Public Schools system, Dr. Boddy served as Assistant Principal at Oakland Terrace Elementary School, Principal at Beall Elementary School, and currently holds the position of Director of the County's Equity Initiatives Unit. He makes significant contributions to the educational objectives of the museum's mission.
