Meghan Kamiche Abadoo
Meghan K. Abadoo is a choreographer, educator and writeR&Based in Mount Rainier, MD. Her work explores the gatekeeping roles of dance artists in communities and the capacity for dance events to sustain transformative social movements. She is currently a leading associate artist with the Dance Exchange and a 2016-2017 U.S. Fulbright Fellow, where she recently conducted eight months of creative research at the Noyam Institute of Performing Arts in Dodowa, Ghana. Prior to thiSemperiod she performed for over a decade with internationally renowned dance companies and choreographers including the Dance Exchange, Gesel Mason, Liz Lerman, David Dorfman Dance and Urban Bush Women. She has taught as a guest artist at Brown University, James Madison University, East Carolina University, Dickinson College and the University of Virginia. She also loves to draw with loose ink and fountain pen, and compose contact improvisation duets with her daughter in the comfort of their living room.
